About Leah Light: Brief Bio

Leah's healing gifts came early in life--she has given readings and interpreting dreams since childhood. Her early adult years were spent grounded in the business world and in raising a family. All the while she longed for something more fulfilling and interesting than daily chop-wood-carry-water. Much of her free time during those years was devoted to metaphysical study, and to giving impromptu readings at parties or for friends.
In the early 90’s Leah completed training with the Center for Healing Arts in Portland, mainly for her own personal growth, not to make a career of it. What would the neighbors think? To her delight, she found that healing gifts expand and grow with use--and the neighbors just might want a reading or to explore alternative ways to grow, too!
While at the healing arts center, she learned about life energy, a concept that bridges both spirituality and holistic medicine. The theory is that when things are not in balance in our outer experience, it can be traced to an imbalance in the underlying energy. Illness would be an expression of energetic imbalance. So, too, would be relationship difficulties, career issues, and most any other challenge humans face. Mainstream approaches are usually temporary at best since they only address the surface level. Lasting change requires getting to the root cause, the underlying energy. This can be accessed through meditation and through other self-healing practices.
While at the Center, she was ordained through their church, and thereby became legally authorized to perform weddings. She subsequently founded Circle of Light Ministries, LLC, which is an alternative Church and Spiritual Community where regular meditation and healing circles are held, www.circleoflightministries.com. Holding an ordination by this body legally authorizes the officiating of weddings. These are custom tailored to the couple's wishes and inclusive of all races, orientations, genders, beliefs (or non-beliefs). The main wedding website is: www.weddedyourway.com.
Leah has been teaching meditation and healing circles since the early 90’s. She has served as guest speaker and reader at many Body-Mind-Spirit Expos over the years. Leah's books contain personal stories, interwoven with bits of wisdom and self-healing tools gained along the way. She makes her home in the Wine Country area of the Willamette Valley south of Portland, Oregon and helps her husband, Harold, run a home-based Bed & Breakfast. As one who wears many hats, Leah's favorites are Wife, Mom and Grandmother, and especially, Writer.
